The process for this documentation is described as follows. The location, viewing direction, and a description for each image are recorded on a log sheet. Additionally, GPS coordinates are recorded for each location. The photographs are made using a digital camera with a minimum resolution of 16-megapixels (20 and 36-megapixel also available). Photographic files are stored as either/both compressed JPG and uncompressed TIF files, and either electronically transferred or burned to a CD/DVD-R depending on client preference. If prints are needed, the digital files are used to produce 4x6-inch photographs on Epson Ultra-Premium Presentation Matte archival print paper using Epson Ultrachrome carbon pigment inks. All procedures and deliverables follow the guidelines provided by the National Park Service, Heritage Documentation Programs.
